単独のイモ虫を見つけたら、ひたすら攻撃して、逃げようとしたら追いかけましょう。スライムのように突撃してくることはないので、ノックバック力のある武器を持っていれば、攻撃を受けることは不可能です。
イモ虫の群れに遭遇したら、中～高ノックバックの武器を使って全員を隅に追いやると、一匹も逃げられなくなります。飛び回る虫とイモ虫の群れとの戦いはかなり危険なので、特にイモ虫の数が多い場合は、隅から逃がさないように注意しましょう。パチンコの炸裂弾も効果的です。
